Virginia Ramsbottom's personal artistic
philosophy:
Art is like a mirror which the
artist directs toward the outside world and shows to an audience.
The reflection depends
on the mirror's quality and its direction.
The mirror's quality is the proficiency of the painter.
The choice of direction depends on the artist's aesthetic preferences,
creative courage and attitude towards topical issues.
The mirror and its image
are different things. The mirror only reflects content, on which it is
directed.
One's perception of the
image in the mirror depends on how it is looked at.
If the viewer looks at a picture from the same point as the artist,
he will see what the artist wished to express. If the viewer
looks at it from another angle,
he will see something from his own imagination in the work of art.
